03/09/2010 - FINAL RACE UPDATE |
Hello Bonk Hard Chill racers! We wanted to pass some information on to you about the race this weekend.
First, Oz Cycles, a sponsor of the Bonk Hard Chill, will be giving all Bonk Hard
Chill racers a discount this Friday at their store in Lake Ozark! They are giving all racers a 20% discount on all closeout items in
the store, including all North Face gear and clothing...and much more! There are some fantastic sales already in the store, so an additional 20% on
these items will make them a steal! Make sure you swing by Oz Cycles on Friday when you get into town!
Also, there will be a bike drop for all teams before the race. We will give you directions to the bike drop at the pre-race meeting on
Friday night. Items that you are allowed to drop at the bike drop: bikes, bike helmet, red rear light mounted on bike, spare tube,
bicycle multi-purpose tool, tube patch kit, tire pump / CO2 cartridge inflator, bike gloves (if needed), bike shoes (if needed), and
any water bottles that fit into your bike's bottle cage. That is the ONLY gear that is allowed to be dropped. That's it. No food or any
other gear. The bike drop is about a 30 minute drive (one way) from the Riverview Baptist Church (where racer check-in and the pre-race
meeting are being held). You may want to split up tasks and have some team members do the bike drop and other team members plot checkpoints...
it's completely up to you on how and when the bikes are dropped, but they do need to be dropped before the race starts.
Teams are allowed to bring their own paddles and PFDs for the race, but you will have to carry them with you for the majority of the race.
We're looking forward to a fantastic race this weekend! Please come ready to have a good time and a great adventure! Also, please
be careful driving in to the race, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday!

01/19/2010 - BONK HARD CHILL RESCHEDULED TO MARCH 13TH |
The Bonk Hard Chill Adventure Race has been rescheduled to March 13th. Even though a survey was released that asked
for racer's input on the new date, this date was ultimately determined because there is another adventure race already scheduled in Missouri on
March 6th. The race organization promoting the race on March 6th,
UltraMax Events, choose the date of March 6th to not interfere with the Bonk Hard Chill or the LBL Challenge Adventure Races.
This is UltraMax's first shot at adventure racing, and we wish them all the best at their race. If you were one of the racers
that were able to make the March 6th date and not the March 13th date, you should definitely consider doing the UltraMax race.
We apologize to UltraMax Events for this rescheduling inconvenience.
For those of you that WILL be able to attend the Bonk Hard Chill on the new date, everything with the race will remain the same (except
the date, of course). The Normal Registration period for the race has been extended to 11:59PM on February 12th. The origninal race course
will remain the same for the most part. With the extremely cold weather that we have had in the Midwest this winter, hopefully this new
date will give you the opportunity to train more and come more prepared for the race. We are excited about this year's course!
If you had previously signed up for the race, and will no longer be able to participate in the race, please
contact us and tell us that you will not be able to make the reschedule date and you would like a refund (even if you have previously
sent us an email about not being able to make the reschedule date, please do so again - thanks!). You have until February 1st to inform
us that you will not be able to race. If we receive notification from your team after February 1st, we will treat it as a normal team
dropping from the race and you may not receive a full refund. Or, if you would like to participate in a different Bonk Hard Racing event, and would like your entry fee to go towards that race, please let us know that as well.
If you have already made arrangements for lodging at the Bonk Hard Chill, please call the facility and tell them that you would like to
either cancel the reservation or change the date (if you plan on racing in March).
The Bonk Hard Chill will still be a part of the Checkpoint Tracker
Adventure Racing Series and we are working on informing all of the local agencies of this new date. We apologize to all of you for
this inconvenience, and we hope that you will be able to join us in March or at other Bonk Hard Racing events in 2010.
Sincerely,
Jason Elsenraat

11/30/2009 - REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2010 BONK HARD CHILL! |
Registration for the 5th running of the Bonk Hard Chill, held at Lake of the
Ozarks State Park, is NOW OPEN! The course for the 2010 Bonk Hard Chill will be brand new and will take racers to areas
that we have never been! You will not want to miss this year's race. It is more than likely the last year that the Bonk Hard
Chill will be held at the Lake of the Ozarks area.
The 2010 Bonk Hard Chill will be a part of the 2010 Checkpoint Tracker Adventure Racing Series in which teams can race to receive
points and qualify for the 2010 Checkpoint Tracker National Championship race, which will be held by Bonk Hard Racing in the October /
November time frame. Please take a few minutes to create a team on the
Checkpoint Tracker website and add the events that your team plans on competing in 2010. This is all that you have to do to
receive points in the Series, and it is completely free!
Join us on February 6th for the first Bonk Hard Racing event of the year, the Bonk Hard Chill!
